Jay Z's Roc Nation agency is reportedly one of five representatives that made a pitch to Geno Smith during two days of meetings with prospective agents, ProFootballTalk.com reported Thursday.

A source with knowledge of the situation said the quarterback just finished two days of meetings with potential successors to Select Sports Group, the agency he hired after completing his college career at West Virginia. Making presentations along with Jay-Z Roc Nation agency were Joel Segal, Rick Smith of Priority Sports, Eugene Parker and Fletcher Smith, according to the source.

The rapper/mogul is not actually a licensed agent, so the presentation came from an agent who works for the company he owns. It was believed that Jay-Z's partner -- CAA Sports -- would take charge when the rapper got into the agent business, but CAA Sports was not involved in the pitch to Smith, according to the report. Jay-Z is also not allowed to persuade any player to join his agency because he is not an agent certified by the NFL Players Association.

Smith is not expected to make his decision before the end of the weekend, since he will be busy as the Jets hold their annual rookie minicamp.

In 2012, Smith completed 369-of-519 attempts for 4,205 yards, 42 touchdowns and six interceptions, according to his profile on NFL.com. He added 151 rushing yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Smith is also the cousin of former Miami running back Melvin Bratton, who was held back from a big-time professional career after suffering a knee injury in the 1988 Orange Bowl.
