It's a good year for Adele and Beyonce, who received nominations in all three of the general field categories for which they were eligible. Other artists who should be celebrating today are Lukas Graham and Bieber, who received two nominations in the general field, with the divisive Bieber managing to get into Album of the Year.

In Album of the Year, there are four mainstream pop artists nominated, including Adele, Beyonce, Bieber and Drake. While each of these artists' respective albums have received critical acclaim and strong sales, country artist Simpson may appeal to older members in the Academy who don't want to reward more popular artists.

As for Best New Artist, each of the artists nominated have a strong chance of winning based on their years. Ballerini is one of the most popular new country artists, and Morris has been steadily growing in acclaim in the same genre. Chance the Rapper received a lot of acclaim for his new mixtape, Coloring Book, while The Chainsmokers have found great success with hits like "Don't Let Me Down" and "Closer". Then there's Paak, who may not be as well known as the other four but has been in the business for a while but has finally broken out recently.

The Grammys will air live Sunday, Feb. 12 at 8/7c on CBS.
