Young and successful pop star Selena Gomez effusively said she has "finally fought the fight" when returning from a 90-day hiatus from performing to recuperate from the mental effects of lupus

The young pop star has also been awarded the Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist at the AMA Awards Night last November 20, 2016. During her acceptance speech, Gomez said that "she had everything" but she was also "completely broken". But she made her fans love her more by quoting, "If you are broken, you do not have to stay broken", Celebuzz notes.

In an interview via Thrive Global, Gomez revealed that living without her cell phone for 90 days in rehab was the "most refreshing, calming, rejuvenating feeling ever". She also said that nowadays, she hardly uses it as well and that only a few people have her number.

It was also a surprise to know that Gomez hardly uses email, preferring to use the telephone to discuss things.

The interviewer continues to ask her questions on what provides her energy throughout the day. She says quite candidly that staying healthy in mind, body, and emotionally plus learning new things keep her full of energy.

The young star was diagnosed with lupus as early as 2014 and was forced to go into rehab to recuperate. But health concerns loomed again, particularly her anxiety attacks and depression, ABC News has learned.

Selena Gomez decided to go again into rehab last August, thereby cutting short her Revival World Tour.

Most of Hollywood including her fans commended her for her bravery and honesty regarding her disease. In fact, Gomez holds the biggest Instagram fan base of 103 million followers, surpassing that of Taylor Swift.
