2016 has not been a good year for Samsung. The company released the Note 7 to high critical acclaim and user feedback. However, Note 7's run as the top phone of 2016 was cut short by numerous complaints regarding its exploding battery.

The entire world watched as Samsung's Note 7 market fell in shambles and Samsung was forced to recall the handset back, CNET reports Now, with the Galaxy S8 currently coming to the markets, Samsung isn't taking any chance.

Every new iteration of the Samsung Galaxy S lineup is announced around February, preferably in World Mobile Congress. This year, Samsung Galaxy S8 leaks suggest that the company might be delaying the handset, setting a date sometime in April, as reported by SamMobile.

Some of the Galaxy S8 rumors suggest that Samsung has deliberately done this, so that the after effect of Note 7 is completely gone, and Samsung gets a fresh and hyped up market to play with. Samsung has allowed its marketing teams to do whatever necessary to build enough confidence in customer base, so that its flagship can shine in sales.

The Galaxy S7 and the S7 Edge are great phones, and Samsung has had no problems in selling these, however, Samsung isn't going to take any chances. However, Samsung might also be planning to release the handset in Q1 2017 itself, preferably in March, to rack up Q1 sales of the handset.

Releasing the S8 in April would make Samsung lose a significant part of the sales with nothing in Q1, and with no holiday season in Q2, Samsung might be looking at dimmed sales figures for the S8. Moreover, since te Note 7 wasn't available during the holiday season, Samsung did not manage enough sales on its existing flagships. Samsung would look to correct that.

Other Galaxy S8 news suggest that the phone might be costlier than the S7. However, it could come with features that will eclipse the marvel that S7 already is. Only time will tell how the S8 fares in the market. For now, the only thing that can be done is to wait and watch.
