Nerlens Noel continues to headline the recent NBA news and trade rumors as of late. Reports are now spreading that Noel could be heading to the Portland Trail Blazers as his possible destination as the February trade deadline is fast approaching.

Noel has been the hot topic of numerous trade deals since last summer. During the offseason, his "silly" comment about the situation of the 76ers roster for having three big men in the starting lineup signifies that he is not happy with the team.

Just recently, Noel has also expressed his disappointment for playing for just only eight minutes in a loss to the Los Angeles Lakers. He believed that he could contribute more if he was fielded on the court and 76ers coach Brett Brown gave his usual minutes. With this notion, is it logical for the 76ers to trade Noel now and get a valuable asset in return?

According to FOXSports, with Nerlens Noel being the odd man out of the three big man on the 76ers roster, looking for a new team for him could be the best option to all parties concern. And it seems that the Philadelphia 76ers will have no hard time of searching a trade partner for him.

The report says that the Boston Celtics and Portland Trail Blazers are showing great interest in acquiring Noel's services. Both these NBA teams needed a defensive player and a great rebounder and it seems that Noel possesses the skillset they are looking for.

However, it looks like the Blazers have the upper hand over the Celtics. According to NBA, the Blazers are desperate to add a big man to toughen up their interior defense and the addition of Noel could somehow change their standing on defense. Currently, the Blazers are dead last in Defensive Rating out of 30 teams in the league allowing 111.1 points per 100 possession.

Trade scenario is saying that the 76ers will send Noel and forward Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot to the Blazers in exchange for forward Ed Davis and guard Shabazz Napier. The trade will somehow give both teams the needed players on the respective spot they'd wished for.

Nerlens Noel will mostly likely give the Portland Trail Blazers a rim protector and a better rebounder while Luwawu-Cabarrot will give the coaching staff a young player to develop. On the other hand, the 76ers will greatly benefit to Napier's playmaking skill that they also badly needed while Davis will be a defensive guy off the bench.

Will Nerlens Noel possibly heads to the Portland Trail Blazers before the NBA trade deadline?
