iPhone 7 Plus users are complaining about the camera of the Apple flagship recently. While the 12 MP wide-angle lenses and 12 MP telephoto lens of the iPhone 7 Plus shooter is famous for taking the great photos, the camera reports an error message.

In a Reddit thread, which was titled "iPhone 7 Plus Camera are dying," Redditor teryakiwok says the gadget shows an error message that reads "Emergency iPhone needs to cool down" whenever the camera app is started although the gadget is not heating up.

Fellow iPhone users have replied in the thread saying that they have experienced a similar issue and had it resolved at one of Apple's Genius Bars.

According to Forbes, a quick search on Twitter shows that the issue has been happening as early as October, so that means the recent update to iOS 10.2 is not the source of the problem. Several reports show that this could be a hardware issue affecting a small batch of units, so a software update won't be able to fix the problem.

The experience of other iPhone 7 Plus owners, which was shared on social media, is there is total screen blackness rather than an image preview. In other cases, it was not black but purple, blue, or green on the displays.

If it is not a software problem, the likely solution is a replacement of the iPhone 7 Plus. Some phone owners had their units fixed at Apple Genius Bars, while others returned their handsets and had it replaced by Apple with a new one.

It appears that the problem with the camera is linked to a particular batch of the iPhone 7 Plus that might be the reason why Apple has opted not to issue a statement about the problem until it blows up and become a scandal like the Bendgate issue.

Other than the iPhone 7 Plus several other owners of Google Pixel phones also reported an issue with lens flare which Google addressed by issuing a software patch.
