High School Musical fans have been waiting for the good news for a long time, yet an announcement about the fourth installment of the Disney movie eludes them. Nevertheless, here is some other good news.

High School Musical alums Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale recently reunited for a lovely rendition of Elle King's Ex's & Oh's for the latter's YouTube channel, reports Billboard. The female co-stars, who played best friends in the movie, got together and fulfilled the request of some eager fans who wanted them to reunite for a performance.

To make things more interesting, Tisdale's husband and composer Chris French also chipped in and prepared the arrangement of the song. He played the guitar for them and they harmonized in the trademark BFF fashion. Surprisingly, the duo never got the chance to sing together in any of their High School Musical movies.

Speaking of the movies, High School Musical 4 is still under wraps and Disney has not made any formal announcement. However, rumors are swirling around and it is being said that the movie will feature a brand new cast with East High Wildcats and West High Knights. There will be also some kind of West Side Story-type love, claims MTV.

Sources claim that the executives are making casting calls for the new movie. If this is true, it is indeed sad for fans of Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron who want the lead pair of the musical franchise to reunite and recreate the past magic. Hudgens is said to have been replaced by Taylor Swift.

It is also rumored that the former will not be returning for the sequel as her boyfriend Austin Butler does not want her to be reunited with Efron. He is allegedly insecure of the two coming together. Some are also saying that Efron and Hudgens will just do cameos in the movie. Well, the veracity of these rumors is not ascertained and therefore, fans would have to wait and watch.

Everyone would love to see Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron in High School Musical 4 and it is very likely to go on floors soon with some saying in 2017. Still, it is best to rely on official announcements.
