Samsung Electronics is destined to release its flagship handset Samsung Galaxy S8 on April 18. The said smartphone is anticipated to be equipped with top caliber specifications and features.

According to Android Headlines, an investor has claimed that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will be launched officially during the third week of April. But then earlier reports had recommended that the device will be unveiled at Mobile World Congress in late February. Some other alleged leaks have indicated that Samsung may essentially make the smartphone official in New York City in late March or early April. With this, it seems that there is still no concrete information about the release as of the moment.

When it comes with the specs, The Inquistr noted that the Samsung Galaxy S8 is speculated to launch in two variations, one with a 5.1-inch display, and the other with a 5.5-inch variant. On both of these models, the South Korean tech giant is anticipated to ditch the capacitive buttons naturally found on the bottom of their devices. It might be replaced by an on-screen navigation button. This move would let Samsung to radically decrease the size of the bezels of their devices, something that Apple is also assumed to do with the publication of the iPhone 8 later this year.

Samsung Electronics is also expected to copy another big feature from Apple's devices. The 3D Touch which allows for pressure-sensitive interaction with the handset will most probably be present with the Samsung Galaxy S8 in some form of another. Nevertheless, it's safe to conclude that Samsung will brand the feature in a different way on their smartphones.

There are also talks stating that Samsung could trail one of Apple's less popular moves too in ditching the standard 3.5mm headphone jack. Whether the South Korean tech giant will substitute it with a USB-C connection or just carry on with their typical charging port, it remains to be seen.

As for the Samsung Galaxy S8 release date, the April 18 launch is still not confirmed by the company. With this, it seems that its patrons will have to wait for the tech giant to announce every detail about the upcoming flagship device.
