Ryan Gosling has garnered a lot of buzz for his role in La La Land and is among the top contenders favored to win the Oscar for Best Actor because of the film, and the possibility he may win is possibly encouraging his longtime partner Eva Mendes to attend the awards show with him.

The couple, who are notoriously private and have rarely attended events together in the past, are reportedly planning to walk the red carpet together at next month's Oscars, and according to Hollywood Life, because Mendes has been so reticent to appear on red carpets alongside her beau, top designers are all now clamoring for the chance to dress her for the big event.

"Eva is expected to go to the Oscars this year and support Ryan," a source told the website. "Her favorite designers include Calvin Klein and Dolce & Gabbana, but she also loves vintage style dresses too."

However, the source also noted that Mendes, who is a successful fashion designer these days with her New York & Company line, could also use the moment to make a genuine statement on the Red Carpet by wearing one of her own designs.

"She has her own line, New York & Company Collection," the source said. "So this marks a great opportunity to really make a fashion statement with millions of people watching the Oscars around the world."
