The beta version of the latest software for the Apple Watch was released to developers recently. The watchOS 3.2 Beta 1 reportedly includes two major additions: the first is Theater Mode, and the other is SiriKit. The new release also expands the ability of users to use Siri, Apple's intelligent digital assistant, on their watches.

The Theater Mode according to sci-tech-today, turns off features on the Apple Watch that would keep devices silent and the screens dim. The mode reportedly not only allow users to easily and quickly mute the sound of their Apple Watches to avoid disturbing fellow theater-goers, but also prevents the screens of their devices from automatically waking and brightening when they raise their wrists.

Apparently, without having to go into settings to make the change, Theater Mode disables the raise-to-wake feature on the Apple Watch, and mutes the sound. Notifications can still be received and haptics can still be felt by the wearer. The screen will remain dark until the user taps the screen, presses the Digital Crown, or pushes the side button. Accordingly, spinning the Digital Crown in Theater Mode will slowly brighten the screen from its darkest setting.

SiriKit on the hand allows developers of apps involving audio/video calling, messaging, sending and receiving payments, booking rides, starting workouts, and searching for photos, to integrate with Siri. An Apple Watch user will be able to ask Siri to book a ride using Lyft.

It is also reported by phonearena that once a notification is received that watchOS 3.2 Beta 1 is ready to be installed on the Apple Watch, the timepiece must be within range of the Wi-Fi connected iPhone. It also necessary that that the battery of the watch is charged to at least 50%. Furthermore, the Apple Watch must not be restarted or removed from the charger until the update is complete. For curiosity sake, the watchOS 3.2 Beta 1 update weighs in at 242MB.
