"Metal Gear" players know all too well that 2017 marks a significant milestone for the action-adventure stealth video game. Jul, 13, 2017 will mark the 30th year anniversary of the game originally developed by Konami.

"Metal Gear" fans are curious if Konami has something in store in commemoration of its 30th year anniversary. After 30 years, a lot has happened to "Metal Gear," including the relative game emergency that transpired when one of the main men behind the game, Hideo Kojima, left. To make things worse, Hideo Kojima left with a few other people who also played significant roles in the game.

While the absence of Hideo Kojima undeniably gave a big blow to "Metal Gear," life went on for Konami. According to Mobipicker, fans of the franchise are actually looking forward to "Metal Gear Survive" to hit the stores. But aside from "Metal Gear Survive," will the fans have something else to look forward to?

As of writing, there are two major points of discussion that solid "Metal Gear" fans keep talking about. Should they be given a say on what "Metal Gear" should release for its 30th anniversary celebration, it could either be a rerelease of "Metal Gear Solid" games on mainstream platforms and consoles or a whole new installment after "Metal Gear Survive."

One of the last documented interviews regarding "Metal Gear" happened in Jul. 2016. According to Gaming Bolt, a verified Reddit user named Ben, who was handling the social media aspect of Konami at the time of the interview, has teased the fans that the gaming company might be brewing something for its 30th year anniversary.

However, the said "Metal Gear" updates and developments are still possibilities and there have been no further or follow up news releases about it. However, Konami has yet to release an official statement regarding the said updates.
