The first two minutes of The Amazing Race season 29 premiere have been released, featuring the cast reacting to this year's big twist.

The Amazing Race season 29 is finally set to begin in the coming week, featuring 22 contestants randomly paired with each other. This is a major change from the usual Amazing Race format, which almost always features teams with pre-existing relationships, from a parent and child to brothers to best friends to a dating couple.

The season 29 premiere set to air this coming Thursday will feature host Phil Keoghan introducing the concept to the cast before they set off on a race around the world. The first two minutes of the premiere are now available at People, which you can now watch below:

Keoghan addresses the cast at their starting point at Grand Hope Park in Los Angeles:

"This is all about first impressions, so take a really good look at the people standing around you ... because you are about to pair up with a complete stranger for a nine-country, 17-city, 36,000 mile race around the world," he tells the cast.

The cast has varying reactions overall, with some welcoming the twist with open arms and others having major suspicions. After contestants like Shamir Arzeno and Jessie Lynn Shields share their thoughts on the twist, Keoghan sets them off on the race and they rush for their bags. It seems that the cast will learn their partners upon grabbing their respective bags.

Keoghan previously spoke about this random strangers twist, revealing how it creates drama on a different level that usual.

"For years, 'The Amazing Race' fans have suggested we line up complete strangers and match them up at the starting line to see what would happen," Keoghan said in a CBS statement. "These newbie racers begin with no pre-existing relationships or emotional baggage, and the excitement of traveling around the world to complete dozens of gut-busting, mind-blowing challenges quickly ignites tension."

The Amazing Race season 29 premieres Thursday, March 30 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
