Williams worked on Timberlake's solo debut album, Justified, as part of The Neptunes but has not collaborated with Timberlake since.

The Idolator speculated Wednesday that the two may be reuniting on Timberlake's upcoming project.

Timberlake is also starring in two films due out this year, Runner, Runner and Inside Llewyn Davis, which were featured at the Cannes Film Festival last month.

In Runner, Timberlake plays a Princeton student named Richie who succeeds at online gambling. When he bets the house - his tuition - he loses and suspecting foul play, takes his concerns to Ivan Block, a crime boss played by Ben Affleck.

Ocean's Thirteen screenwriters Brian Koppelman and David Levien penned the script while Brad Furman of The Lincoln Lawyer directed the film, which is scheduled to be released in theaters on September 27.

Llewyn Davis, written and directed by Joel and Ethan Coen, won praises at the Cannes Film Festival. The film also stars Carey Mulligan, John Goodman and Oscar Isaacs as the title character, a singer and songwriter who navigates New York City's folk music scene during the 1960s.

As for his personal life, Timberlake recently revealed in an interview with Glamour magazine that he and his wife, Jessica Biel, are in no hurry to have a family and are leaving the issue "up to fate."

Timberlake, 32, and Biel, 31, wed in a private ceremony in October 2012. The actor-singer said that communication with his wife was of utmost importance to him and brought "stability" to his life.

"The most important thing for me is that we're able to communicate so well and talk about absolutely everything... It's beautiful to have that kind of closeness and understanding," he said.

Timberlake kicks off his 20/20 Experience World Tour on October 31 in Montreal, Quebec.
