"Arrow" Season 6 is set to air later this year and before the actual release date is announced, some of the incoming characters in the DC series has been revealed. It was confirmed that Katie Cassidy is returning to take on the role as Black Siren, Laurel's Earth-2 doppelganger.

The actress who first appeared as Laurel Lance/Black Canary in the season 4 of "Arrow" is making a comeback with a new character since Black Canary was already killed off. Her return is expected to rouse some old issues and it can either be solved or its complications heighten. But whichever the case may be, "Arrow" Season 6 surely looks more exciting than before.

The Hollywood Reporter reported that Cassidy will smoothly enter "Arrow" Season 6 by conveniently appearing in the last two episodes of season 5. CW network confirmed that "The Lost" actress is rejoining the cast for the next installment and this time, she will be staying for the whole season.

The showrunner explained that the team decided to sign up Cassidy again because they were impressed with her interpretation of the character given to her. "We couldn't be more thrilled to welcome Katie back to Arrow as Black Siren," he added.

At any rate, TV Insider pointed out that although Cassidy's previous character depicted her as a villain, it is yet to be seen whether the producers will turn her into one of Arrow's adversaries or an ally. "Arrow" Season 6 will likely pick-up where it left off, at the time when Black Siren was sent to an ARGUS facility instead of being locked up in the STAR Labs.

Meanwhile, Guggenheim further said that another character which is the Vigilante is someone that the audience has already seen in the past. The Vigilante's identity in "Arrow" Season 6 is supposed to be a secret but Guggenheim said that he is not a fan of mystery characters so he is dropping a hint.

"I'm probably not spoiling anything by saying whoever's underneath the Vigilante mask, you've seen that person before," he said.
