Samsung Galaxy S8 and LG G6 have key features that are exactly the same. Android users may have a hard time making a choice. Here's what they should know before making their decision.

Samsung Galaxy S8 and LG G6 are both made of glass wrapped around thin metal frames. The former looks and feels like slick glass, while the latter has a brushed aluminum look. LG's latest smartphone has its glass back coated in order to make it less slippery according to Tech Radar.

Samsung Galaxy S8's fingerprint sensor has been moved to the back and is offset by the camera. On the other hand, LG G6 fingerprint sensor is found on the center spot on the back of the phone.

The two Android giants have the same weight at 163 grams. However, they differ in terms of measurement with LG G6 measuring at 148.9 x 68.1 x 8mm, and Samsung Galaxy S8 at 148.9 x 71.9 x 7.9mm, making the latter taller and wider. The Android heavyweights both have an IP68 rating, meaning they are dustproof and waterproof for up to 1.5 meters deep for half an hour.

Samsung Galaxy S8 and LG G6 both boasts of the excellent quality screen display. LG has a 18:9 ratio, while Samsung has 18.5:9. Stuff said that Samsung has a better display technology with its Super AMOLED displays. It is also reported to have a better contrast ratio and Mobile HDR. Meanwhile, LG supports HDR10 and sticks to IPS LCD touchscreen. It looks pretty good on its own according to critics.

Android 7.0 Nougat is the latest version of Google's operating system. Samsung Galaxy S8 and LG G6 both boasts of that feature but it is the former which uses Qualcom Snapdragon 835, the more powerful chipset. LG is reported to use a fast chip as well, but it is not the newest in the market.
