The wait is nearly over as DC's Man of Steel is now a mere week away from flying on big screens across the U.S.

A brand new and final promo trailer has been released that will surely serve to further wet the palates of Superman fans.  The latest teaser features the likes of General Zod (Michael Shannon) taking on Jor-El (Russell Crowe) while dominating Kryton, Kal-el (Henry Cavill) is also shown being sent to Earth.

The future blockbuster flick was directed by Zack Snyder and written by David S. Goyer.  The latter had previously stated that Man of Steel will be unsimilar in tone to fellow creative mastermind Christopher Nolan's Batman movies.

"Relatable and realistic doesn't necessarily mean dark. I think it would be inappropriate for us to approach a Superman film as if we were doing The Dark Knight. The Batman films are a lot more nihilistic.  Superman has always been a story about hope," he explained to NME.

In other Superman chatter, Entertainment Weekly had stated in May that Superman's (Henry Cavill) planet of Krypton wouldn't be exploding, contrary to the past speculation that infiltrated the Internet on the subject.

Man of Steel is set for release on the big screen on Friday, June 14. Be sure to check back for more details on the future blockbuster.  The new trailer can be watched below.
