Miranda Lambert loved writing her latest album, which is believed to have been inspired by her highly-publicized split from Blake Shelton in 2015.

During a new interview, Lambert explained why writing her latest album, The Weight of These Wings, was such a great experience.

"I don't have a favorite song or album because they're all my babies. They're like my dogs. But I really enjoyed the process of this last record called The Weight of These Wings because I took my time on it and spent over a year writing for it," she explained to Buzzfeed. "I sort of got to explore my songwriting in a different way than I ever have before."

Lambert and Shelton announced their divorce in July 2015 and in January 2016, Lambert officially moved on with her current boyfriend, singer Anderson East, as Shelton went public with Gwen Stefani.

Although Lambert and Anderson have kept a much lower profile than her ex-husband and his new partner, a source claimed, months ago, they were going strong and headed for marriage and children.

"Miranda and Anderson are doing good. They try to keep their relationship private and out of the public's way. They are definitely gonna get married," the source told E! News earlier this year. "They have discussed marriage and kids that they both want in the near future. She has learned many things about what she wants and needs after her breakup and Anderson fulfills it all."

"They never argue and just are both understanding with one another. Miranda and Anderson have couple time and during that, they always give back to the community and their charities. Miranda is happy and everything else is in a perfect place between her health, music and her love life," the source added. "Miranda's friends and family have never seen her this happy. This year is going be big for Miranda!"

Although Lambert and Shelton were married for four years, they did not have any children during their relationship.
