Star Wars creator, J.J. Abrahams shared some exciting news about the sequel on Saturday, when he revealed that the seventh installment will begin filming in less than a year.

Abrahams didn't touch on many details when he spoke at a conference for film producers in Los Angeles, but talked briefly about the movie.

The 46-year-old producer said that Episode VII is slated to begin in January 2014 in London. He admitted that filming in London was far less interesting for him because it required him to move far away from his family.

Even though the movie makes Abrahams "insane," he told the Produced By Conference, that the production crew is "most likely, if all goes as planned, going to be moving to London at the end of the year for the 'Star Wars' movie."

According to reports, Abrahams didn't add much after that, but explained his general philosophy behind his vision of the Star Wars VII. He said that he needs to acknowledge the previous episode in someway, but wants to focus on new ideas.

"I think that the thing is so big and so massive to so many people that the key to moving forward is honoring but not revering what went before."

The Inquistr reported that Michael Arndt, the Oscar winning writer behind movies like Little Miss Sunshine and Toy Story 3 will reportedly contribute to Star Wars Episode 7 .

There is a number of alumni cast who have reportedly been tapped to star in the latest installment, including-- Mark Hammill (Luke Skywalker), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), Harrison Ford (Han Solo), and Billy Dee Williams (Lando Calrissian), The Christian Science Monitor reported.

According to The Sun newspaper, the lead singer of Florence and the Machine, Florence Welch, will also star in the film.

"We think Florence has the exact style we are looking for. She has done some acting but it was her singing on stage that initially caught the eye. Almost every actress in Hollywood wants a role in the new movies but we are keen to cast people who are unexpected," a source said.

Star Wars Episode 7 is expected to hit theaters in the summer of 2015.
