Kailyn Lowry and Chris Lopez appeared to be making an effort to co-parent not long ago but according to a new report, the Teen Mom 2 star may be headed for a custody battle with her former boyfriend.

Weeks after welcoming her third son, a source claims Lopez's mom is encourage him to file for custody of their baby.

Lopez has “been really trying to make an effort to help look after his son and to get along with Kailyn,” a source close to Lopez told Hollywood Life on August 26.

However, as the source revealed, “it’s just not working out."

"At this point, having raised two babies already, Kailyn is an expert when it comes to caring for [“Baby Lo,” the child’s unofficial name]. Frankly, Chris is just getting in her way and causing extra problems,” the insider alleged, adding that Lopez's mother is pushing him “to apply for full time custody of her grandchild."

"Chris has no desire to try and take his kid away from Kailyn, but his mom is concerned about visitation rights,” the source explained.

According to the report, Lopez's mother doesn’t approve of Lowry's “lifestyle and the fact that she has three children from three fathers. Chris’s mom really wants [“Baby Lo” to be raised by her family and standards.”

In addition to her youngest son with Lopez, Kailyn Lowry shares seven-year-old Isaac with her ex-boyfriend Jo Rivera and three-year-old Lincoln with her ex-husband Javi Marroquin.
