Actress Sally Field will recur in the new dark comedy series on Netflix called maniac. She According to Reports the Academy award-winning actress will star alongside Emma Stone and Jonah Hill. The series produced by Paramount TV is being directed by True Detective's Cary Fukunaga.

Maniac is an adaption from 2014 Norwegian series written by Patrick Somerville. Though the plot of the original is based on a mentally ill patient, details of Field's role has been kept a secret, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The 70-year old actress is known for a variety of roles on TV and her recent tryst is with "Little Evil", Netflix -horror comedy,

According to the Deadline magazine, no details about Field's character are being revealed as she could be playing Hill's mother. This is her first TV gig since her starring role on the ABC family drama Brothers & Sisters. This eventually earned her one of her three Emmy awards, and one of just handful of TV series stints that also include NBC's ER and the show that put her on the map 50 years ago, "The Flying Nun".

The two-time Oscar winner is expected to return in the 10-episode tv series with her wide acclaimed acting skills on television.
