Bella Hadid and The Weeknd could be on the cusps of a reunion just over one year after their initial split.

According to a new report, there are lingering feelings between the model and her former boyfriend and now that he is single, she may be ready to give their relationship another shot.

“She never fully got over Abel,” a source told Life & Style magazine, according to a report by Hollywood Life on Nov. 29. “She’s willing to give things another shot and is telling friends that Abel has learned from his mistakes and that they’re meant to be together.”

Following their November 2016 breakup, The Weeknd embarked on a 10-month relationship with his fellow musician Selena Gomez and for the entirety of their romance, they appeared to be quite serious about each another. Then, in an odd turn of events, Gomez was caught spending time with her ex-boyfriend, Justin Bieber, at her home in Los Angeles and days later, her split from The Weeknd was confirmed.

Days after that, The Weeknd turned up at Hadid’s apartment in New York City and prompted rumors of a reconciled romance. However, because of Hadid's rumored relationship with Drake and The Weeknd's recent outing with Katy Perry, the exact nature of their relationship was unclear.

According to Hollywood Life, The Weeknd “never stopped loving Bella” and has reportedly been open with Hadid about that fact in the weeks since his breakup from Gomez.

“He sent Bella hundreds of dollars worth of roses and mailed her a hand-written note about how he’s never fallen out of love with her,” the source recently told Life & Style.

That said, Hadid's friends and family members are reportedly at odds about the couple's potential reunion because they haven’t forgiven him for what he put Hadid through after their nearly two-year romance came to an end last year.

“It took Bella a very long time to get over The Weeknd. She was in a pretty dark place for months,” a source close to Hadid told the outlet. “Her family and friends absolutely blame The Weeknd for hurting her, even if she’s forgiven him. Her friends are worried about her hanging out with him again. They don’t want to see her get hurt all over again!”
