Spidey fans have a lot to look forward to in the next few years according to an announcement made by Sony on Monday.

While the studio is currently in the midst of crafting The Amazing Spider-Man 2, they have just revealed that viewers will be getting a dose of Spider-Man every two years through 2018.

The Andrew Garfield led franchise has cast its web over a four piece series. Following the 2014 release of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, theaters will receive The Amazing Spider-Man 3 on June 10, 2016 and The Amazing Spider-Man 4 on May 4, 2018.

"Spider-Man is our most important, most successful, and most beloved franchise, so we're thrilled that we are in a position to lock in these prime release dates over the next five years," said Jeff Blake, chairman of worldwide marketing and distribution for Sony, according to CBS.

It is possible that an overarching plot has been planned out for the ensuing films. Slash Films reports that there are rumors regarding an appearance of The Sinister Six in one of the installments.

Peter Parker will certainly have his hands full should that prediction come true. However, current director Marc Webb is primarily concerned with getting the sequel ready for its May 2, 2014 release.
