Selena Gomez And The Weeknd May Be Headed For An Awkward Run-In At Coachella

Selena Gomez and The Weeknd attended Coachella together last year, but this year will be a very different experience for the now-ex-couple.

As fans of The Weeknd may have heard, he was recently added to the impressive lineup of the upcoming music festival, which will also include performances by Beyoncé, Eminem, and many more. So when it comes to Gomez's potential attendance, the former couple may be headed for an awkward run-in with each other that may also include Gomez's boyfriend, Justin Bieber.

“Selena now has to pick and choose when to go to Coachella because she wants to spend time with friends and see Beyoncé but she is not going to be seen anyway near The Weeknd’s set and she doesn’t even want to be in the area the day he performs,” a source told Hollywood Life on Jan. 4. “She doesn’t want to ruffle feathers with Justin [Bieber, 23] and she doesn’t want to have people talk about her being there at the same time as him. It is a headache that she would rather not deal with and she is making plans now to make that weekend as stress-free as possible.”

As Enstars previously reported, The Weeknd is set to headline the Friday shows at Coachella 2018, which will take place on April 13 and 20, and during his sets, he will likely treat audience members to performances of "Can't Feel My Face," "The Hills," "Starboy," and "I Feel It Coming."

The Weeknd dated Gomez for 10 months after splitting from former girlfriend Bella Hadid in November 2015. As fans will recall, The Weeknd and Gomez struck up a relationship in early 2017 and traveled the world together before calling it quits at the end of last year.

Around the time of their split, Gomez began spending time with her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Justin Bieber, and in mid-November of last year, the couple confirmed their romance was back on. Since then, the couple has visited Seattle, Washington, where they visited a candy store, and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, where they rang in the New Year with friends.

In recent years, Gomez has attended several Coachella Music Festivals, and last year, she attended the events with The Weeknd and shared a sweet photo of the two of them together on her Instagram page for her fans and followers.
