Selena Gomez Is Reportedly Avoiding Her Mom As Her Romance With Justin Bieber Continues

Selena Gomez is reportedly avoiding her mother, Mandy Teefy, as they continue to feud over her rekindled romance with Justin Bieber.

According to a new report, Gomez has distanced herself from her mother after spending the recent holidays in Texas. The singer is now focused on her relationship with her on-again, off-again boyfriend, who was spotted at her Los Angeles home in late October of last year.

“Selena is avoiding her mother as her rekindled relationship with Justin intensifies,” a source close to the singer revealed to Hollywood Life on Jan. 3. “As Selena and Justin continue to rebuild their relationship, they have been spending more and more time together and things are getting serious."

The insider continued to claim that making things work with Bieber isn't always easy. However, the source added that Gomez is completely committed to keeping their relationship intact this time around.

Gomez and Bieber began spending time with one another at the end of October before Gomez and The Weeknd's split was announced. Then, weeks later, during a visit to an ice rink in Los Angeles, they confirmed their romance was back on by kissing in the middle of one of Bieber's hockey games.

According to the report, Gomez and Bieber are doing well at the moment but Teefy's ongoing negative comments about Bieber haven't helped their case.

"Mandy’s strong opinion of her daughter’s situation only makes Selena feel guilty when she just wants to be happy," the insider explained. "Selena is dedicated to Justin and for now it is easier for her to keep her distance from her mom who she feels is often very judgmental of her relationship."

Although Gomez is keeping her distance from Teefy at the moment, she hopes her mother will soon back off with her negative statements about Bieber and give him another chance.

At the end of last week, an insider spoke to Life & Style magazine and claimed that Teefy was allegedly planning to meet with Bieber's mother, Pattie Mallette, in an effort to let her know how she feels about her son's relationship with her daughter.

As the source added, however, those around the women were concerned that their reportedly upcoming encounter could get ugly. That's because the two women are in completely different places when it comes to their thoughts on Gomez and Bieber's reunion.
