Clare O’Connor, a former journalist for Forbes magazine, has been hired by Bumble as their Editorial Director.

According to a recently shared press release, O'Connor was brought to the Bumble team to help the company expand its media division, Bumble Media, and operate the brand's media content and editorial platform.

O'Connor's addition comes just weeks after Bumble named Erin and Sara Foster as the Heads of Creative for Bumble BFF and Bumble Bizz. Bumble Bizz offers users the opportunity to network with one another and support one another professionally.

In the press release, O'Connor was described as a leading reporter who has covered the "worlds of female entrepreneurship and workplace equality in the tech industry." It was also noted that O'Connor has spent over a decade covering some of the most influential women on the planet and will continue to do so as she joins the Bumble team.

“As you’ve seen with the additions of Erin and Sara Foster and now with a journalist the caliber of Clare who’s charted and championed female entrepreneurs for years, we’re putting together a dynamic team as we build out Bumble Media,” said Bumble CEO Whitney Wolfe Herd.

Wolfe Herd continued on, telling the press that her users have a connection to their brand and continue to demand more content out of the company. In turn, she and her team have committed themselves to giving users just that as they continue to expand their company with talented and passionate people.

In a statement of her own, O'Connor said that she's been following Bumble’s trajectory as a reporter and believes in its female-driven take. She also said that as women continue to fight for equality in every field, she is excited to get started with her new role.

"I don’t take for granted the opportunity to launch an entirely new segment within a company that, at just over three years old, has already made a tangible difference in millions of women’s lives. And we’re just getting started," O'Connor added in a blog post for Bumble on Jan. 10.

As she begins her new venture, O’Connor will be working closely with Bumble's content team as she develops and publishes stories for all of Bumble media channels, including their app.
