Jennifer Lopez addressed the controversy surrounding her racy costume in her performance of her hit single Live It Up on Britain's Got Talent in May in an interview with The Telegraph on June 19.

Twitter and Ofcom, a television regulator in the U.K., were flooded with complaints that Lopez' outfit was not appropriate for a family-oriented program.

Lopez said the following in her own defense:

"I don't think I'm any racier than any other female pop artist. OK, I'll wear a sexy outfit, but I think it's more because my body shape's a little different to other body shapes, so that's not very fair."

The 43-year-old singer-actress is going to star in the Hollywood film The 33 based on the true story of the rescue of the 33 Chilean miners who were trapped underground for 69 days in 2010, The Independent reported yesterday.

The mother of two will co-star with Rodrigo Santoro, Martin Sheen and Antonio Banderas in the film.

It is not yet clear which role Lopez will play in the film.

Sheen was cast as the father of a miner while Santoro will portray one of the trapped men.

Banderas will be seen in the role of Mario Sepulveda, the miner nicknamed "Super Mario" who greeted emergency workers with "hi-fives" after he was brought to safety above ground.

The screenplay was written by Mikko Alanne and Jose Rivera, whose films include The Motorcycle Diaries and 5 Days of War.

Patricia Riggen is slated to direct the film, which begins shooting in Chile this fall.

The 33 Chilean miners were rescued in October 2010 after being trapped for 69 days in a mine over 2,000 feet below ground. They each escaped alive after a 15 minute journey to the earth's surface in a specially designed steel capsule.

Lopez is also an executive producer on the new ABC Family drama series The Fosters and her single Live It Up will be featured in the next episode, which airs Monday, June 24th at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
