Teen Mom OG dad and husband of Catelynn Lowell, Tyler Baltierra, can't catch a break — at least when it comes to his critics on Twitter.

In recent weeks, Baltierra has been keeping fans in the loop with his weight loss efforts and while he's been doing quite well for himself, he has been facing major criticism from his fans and followers. According to them, Baltierra shouldn't be bragging about his weight loss while his wife, Lowell, is in rehab.

On Feb. 1, Baltierra responded to the backlash, saying that he shouldn't be under fire, as his wife does the same.

"I think it’s odd that by me expressing pride in one of my accomplishments and self care, makes me a bad guy just because my wife is also investing in her self care simultaneously," he tweeted, according to a report by Us Weekly magazine. "Am I not allowed to pursue self care while she’s gone? Or am I supposed to wallow in my self pity?"

As his tweets continued, Baltierra admitted that his wife's decision not to participate in his weight loss efforts made the idea far more challenging, especially because she kept ordering pizza as he opted for healthier options. That said, his comment was not meant to blame Lowell.

After a fan tweeted to Baltierra, suggesting that his wife was holding him back, he responded with an abrupt denial. As he explained, no one can hold him back except for himself. So, to blame his own struggles on someone else would be unfair to both himself and his wife.

Baltierra's wife, Lowell, confirmed that she was suffering from suicidal thoughts at the end of last year and quickly traveled to a treatment center in Arizona. In recent weeks, Lowell has been in and out of the Arizona facility and most recently, weeks ago, she began a six-week program for her mental health.

Lowell and Baltierra got married in August 2015, months after their second daughter, Novalee Reign, was born. The couple is also parents to daughter Carly, who they gave up for adoption in 2009.
