Kristen Doute isn't thrilled with Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright's romance and wishes her longtime friend would move on from the infamous cheater of Vanderpump Rules.

Although Taylor and Cartwright are currently involved in a committed relationship with one another and are discussing the possibility of getting married, Taylor recently cheated on Cartwright and Doute believes they are moving too fast towards a permanent commitment.

“I mean, you just had a crazy cheating scandal happen months ago. I think you need to pump the breaks,” Doute told Us Weekly magazine on Feb. 5. “Like, things don’t change overnight. Marriage is forever. It’s not just like a fun party favor.”

Taylor admitted he cheated on Cartwright during an early episode of Vanderpump Rules season 6 and a short time later, he was heard blasting her in an audio clip made by Faith Stowers. In the shocking clip, Taylor informed Stowers that he wasn't attracted to Cartwright physically and told her he would never walk down the aisle with her. He even said he refused to have kids with Cartwright.

In the months since he cheated, Taylor has been attempting to make things right with Cartwright and at the end of Dec. 2017, he confirmed he was taking her and her family to visit the Kentucky castle where she hopes to have a fairy tale winter wedding. Still, Doute isn't so sure that Taylor is capable of monogamy.

“I would love to hope so, because I love Brittany. And honestly, I love Jax. I’ve known Jax for over 10 years. It’s family,” she explained. “But I can’t respect anybody who’s going to be treating someone the way he treats her. Especially so undeservingly. I don’t know if I think that he can. I just really hope. Fingers crossed.”

Although Taylor and Cartwright's relationship was a bit strained last year, they have gotten much closer in recent weeks due to the December 2017 death of Taylor's father, Ronald Cauchi, after a cancer battle.
