Ayesha Curry, a celebrity chef and wife of Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry, opened up about a health diagnosis she received. Ayesha is currently pregnant with her and Stephen’s third child together.
Ayesha Curry Talks Tough Pregnancy
Ayesha didn’t hold back in a recent interview when she revealed that doctors diagnosed her with Hyperemesis Gravidarum. She explained what that means for her and her health as well as the unborn child’s.
“This basically means the nausea, incessant sickness and exhaustion probably won’t go away,” said Ayesha. “The only silver linings here are that my itty-bitty baby is healthy…”
She went on to say that Kate Middleton Duchess of Cambridge has also experienced the same diagnosis when she was pregnant. Still, Ayesha admitted she’s “not feeling super royal.”
While Ayesha, who is also officially a CoverGirl, announced her pregnancy with excitement, she also said that this is basically the hardest when considering tiredness.
“I simply cannot wait to have this baby and feel like myself again,” continued Ayesha.
Says She Is 'Very, Very Sad'
Ayesha added that she wouldn’t go as far as saying she suffers from depression although she’s “sad” she has to take a break from cooking.
“But I am truly very, very sad,” said Curry. “when you can’t do what you love all of a sudden because of an uncontrollable situation, it sucks. There’s no better way to say it then it just downright sucks and I can’t wait to get my butt back into the kitchen and back with my culinary family.”
As for the condition, the medical term is Hyperemesis Gravidarum and has been described as a severe and excessive vomiting during pregnancy that won't go away. Middleton has reportedly had the condition for each of her pregnancies, even the one she is experiencing now. The condition has been known to spark weight loss, persistent vomiting, electrolyte disturbance among other symptoms.
The Waiting Game
Despite her diagnosis, Ayesha seems to be excited about her latest pregnancy. She and Steph made an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show recently and said he hopes Ayesha will wait to see what the gender of the child is. Right now, they are parents to two girls Riley and Ryan.
Stephen admitted that Ayesha wants to know stat what she’s carrying, but they both have been able to hold off for now.
“It’s obviously her decision. I’m just trying to play my part,” said Steph.
He said he wants to be able to wait until the day their unborn child arrives to find out the gender. Ayesha didn’t seem as ecstatic to wait that long.
