Kevin Garnett has waived his no-trade clause, making room for the Boston Big Three trade that could send him, Paul Pierce and Jason Terry to the Brooklyn Nets for the package of players and draft picks, according to reports.

The deal could mark the end of the "Big Three Era" that started in Boston and the start of the Celtics' rebuilding plan.  Pierce played 15 years for the Celtics after being drafted in 1998, and finishes as the team's second all-time leading scorer to John Havlicek, with 24,021 points.

The deal cannot go through until July 10.

"We haven't done anything yet," Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge, said. "That's something we'll talk about in a few weeks."

Rumors first swirled that Reggie Evans and forward Tornike Shengelia were heading to the Celtics, but newer reports indicated that second-year guard MarShon Brooks, Kris Humphries and Keith Bogans would be part of the deal.

Brooks, who the Celtics drafted in 2011 had a strong start to his career, averaging 12.6 points per game in 56 games, starting 47 of them in his rookie year. Unfortunately in his second year, he found himself with less playing time in Brooklyn,  averaging only 5.4 points over 73 games, with only starting in two.

Brooks took to Twitter to express his sadness for leaving Brooklyn, but excitement for going back to Boston.

"@MySportsLegion: Will miss you MarShon RT-> @Marshon2: Goodluck in Brooklyn." Same, no doubt #swaggg," he wrote Friday, adding "#celtics #boston #Friartown."

For Garnett and Pierce, the trade may give them another shot at winning a second NBA title, something they fell short to in the first round of the 2013 NBA playoffs.

"It's a win-win for those guys, for sure," an NBA source said.

Another source added that with the new trades to the Nets, the franchise needs to take advantage of the players' skill set and aim for a NBA title soon.

"They would have to win it all in the next two years," the source said.
