Selena Gomez has been named the brand ambassador of Puma for quite some time now. However, it's just recently that the singer unveiled her first design collaboration with the brand.

In September, the athletic footwear, clothing, and accessories company announced that the "Wolves" hitmaker will be the new face of the brand. The company also noted that the singer will not only serve as Puma's brand ambassador. She will also act as a creative consultant and design a line of sneakers for the brand.

Phenom Lux Sneaker: Puma And Selena Gomez Collaboration

Now, Gomez's first design collaboration with the brand, the much-awaited Phenom Lux sneaker, has finally arrived. The Phenom Lux is a limited edition sneaker that is best described as an elevated take on the brand's latest Phenom silhouette.

The shoe, as designed by Gomez, features a simple white leather with gold detailing and a removable ankle bracelet. Moreover, the shoes are equipped with Puma's signature to ignite foam placed strategically in the forefoot and heel for added comfort.

That's not all. The 25-year-old has also designed matching transparent white windowpane socks to wear with the fancy kicks.

$100,000 Will Be Donated To Lupus Research

Puma announced that it would donate $100,000 of the sales proceeds from the Gomez-designed product line to a cause that the singer holds very close to her heart.

The athletic brand will donate the funds to the Lupus Research Alliance, a New York City-based health organization. Its mission is to find better treatments and ultimately prevent and cure Lupus. Gomez has been battling the autoimmune disease since her diagnosis in 2014.

In September 2017, Selena Gomez announced on Instagram that she underwent a kidney transplant due to her battle with lupus. Her donor was her best friend, Francia Raisa.

"It's been really fun to work so closely with Puma on the design of this shoe. I'm also proud to partner with them in helping to affect lives and bring attention to a cause that is very important to me personally," the singer said in a statement released on Thursday, March 29.

The Phenom Lux sneakers and the socks set will arrive in stores on April 6 for a price of $110 and $14 respectively.
