50 Cent was charged with domestic violence and vandalism following an incident in June, according to reports.

On June 23, Los Angeles police were called to a home regarding a report of domestic violence, reports MTV. The female who resided in the Toluca Lake home was a former girlfriend of the rapper who is alos has a child from him.

At the home, police found damaged property including broken chandeliers, furniture, a television, and a lamp, reports TMZ. The 37-year-old musician - real name Curtis Jackson - is also accused of kicking the woman.

"Allegedly when the female locked herself in her bedroom, Jackson kicked-open the bedroom door and kicked her, causing an injury," the prosecutor said, according to CNN.

CNN reports that Jackson racked up $7,100 worth of damage and accumulated one count of domestic violence and four counts of vandalism, according to Los Angeles City Attorney Mike Feuer. If he were to be found guilty on all counts, Jackson would face up to five years in prison and fines of $46,000.

For his part, Jackson denies being arrested. The rapper took to Twitter on Wednesday to try and assure fans that all was well.

"I'm in the car I haven't been arrested. I'm listing to MJ#SMSAUDIO," tweeted 50 Cent following a tweet of Michael Jackson's Billy Jean lyrics.

50 Cent is due in court on July 22.
