Emma Roberts was involved in an altercation with boyfriend Evan Peters while staying at a hotel in Canada.

The We're the Millers actress and the American Horror Story actor were staying in Montreal on July 7 when the incident occurred. Other hotel patrons called police when they heard a disturbance in the couple's room, according to Us Weekly.

When authorities arrived at the pair's room, the 26-year-old Peters had a bloody nose and a bite mark, according to TMZ. Apparently there is some dispute as to whether or not there was an actual bite mark. Sources close to the couple claim that there was not while TMZ states that one police man claims that there was.

Roberts, niece of Julia Roberts, was subsequently taken into custody. The 22-year-old was released shortly after, however, since Peters decided not to press charges.

"It was an unfortunate incident and misunderstanding," the couple said in a statement according to Us Weekly. "Ms. Roberts was released after questioning and the couple are working together to move past it."

Roberts has previously been seen in American Horror Story, Scream 4, and The Art of Getting By. Peters is currently working on X-Men: Days of Future Past and American Horror Story.
