Since it burst onto our screens to great fanfare in November 2019, Disney Plus has proved immensely popular globally. According to Variety, the streaming service now has 86.8 million subscribers.

If you're one of the many Disney Plus customers, you might be wondering how to get the most out of your account. With that in mind, here are five top tips to enhance your streaming experience.

1. Travel the world, virtually

It's no secret that streaming companies make heavy use of geolocation blocking. This means that customers in one country can see and play certain content while customers in another country cannot. Geo-blocking is used for a number of reasons, most often to do with copyright laws and staggered release dates.

Still, it can be annoying if you've been hanging out to watch the latest movie but it's only available for US customers, for instance.

Luckily, there are ways to skirt geo-blocking restrictions and stream content no matter where you are in the world. Using a VPN for your Disney Plus account means you can mask your true IP address and stream content from any country. Turn on VPN, select the location you want to watch content in, open Disney Plus and stream away content you could not access before - it is that simple!

2. Customize your subtitles

Do you love foreign language films but struggle to read the tiny subtitle text? If so, you will be pleased to note that Disney Plus allows you to make dramatic changes to your subtitle settings. Change the subtitle color, font, size, and even choose between italicized text or non-italicized.

To start adjusting your subtitles, head to Settings once subtitles are enabled. The process is slightly different on each platform, but to avoid any confusion, Disney Plus provides a full explanation here.

3. Watch cut scenes from major films

One thing we love about Disney Plus is that the platform contains plenty of rare, cut scenes for your perusal. If you're a film buff, you'll love discovering all the bits that didn't make the main film, whether it's Star Wars or Marvel.

4. Download content to watch offline

Like most streaming services, Disney Plus allows you to download content and then watch it later offline. This is immensely handy, especially if you have small children and a big road trip planned. To download content, simply downward-facing arrow, and if you're downloading a TV series, you can choose to save the whole season or just an episode or two.

5. Turn off autoplay

If you're anything like us, you have probably fallen asleep while watching a series and lost track of where you were up to. With Disney Plus, you can prevent this scenario by turning off the autoplay feature, for your profile or any other profile linked to your account.

Hit Edit Profiles then choose the profile you want to change, then click the switch next to Autoplay.

Disney Plus is a fantastic streaming service with plenty of fun content for both big kids and little kids. We hope our top five Disney Plus tips and tricks help you get the most out of your streaming experience. Happy watching!
