Mia Thornton Not The First 'Real Housewives' Star to Be Diagnosed With Cancer

Mia Thornton isn't the first star from the Real Housewives franchise to open up about a cancer diagnosis as Vicki Gunvalson of "RHOC" previously shared her health condition.

Speaking to Celebuzz, the reality star said she was diagnosed with uterine cancer and she shared it in a radio show.

"Due to the diagnosis, I had to undergo a non-elective full hysterectomy. I was fortunate to catch it early thanks to always adhering to my annual exam schedule," she added. (via Bravo TV's website)

Gunvalson explained why she hid her medical condition for two years, saying she wasn't looking for sympathy.

The reason why she shared her cancer experience with the public is to encourage women to get their annual pap smears.
