Alec Baldwin previously said he was not responsible for the death of Halyna Hutchins, and he recently supported that claim with a shocking development.

Baldwin revealed further details about the "Rust" shooting incident as he claimed no financial liability to everything that happened on the movie's set.

Following Hutchins family's filing of wrongful death lawsuit, Baldwin - through his attorneys - dropped shocking statements related to the case.

On Friday, the actor filed an arbitration demand against his fellow producers, saying that his contract safeguards him from any financial claims involving the production. He also noted how Hutchins reportedly told him to cock the gun before firing it ultimately.

As quoted by Reuters, Baldwin's representatives clarified that the actor provided creative input as a producer of the film. However, the movie failed to hire crew members who should have been responsible for gun safety procedures on the set.

"This is a rare instance when the system broke down, and someone should be held legally culpable for the tragic consequences," the filing said. "That person is not Alec Baldwin."

Baldwin also said that Hutchins told him to cock the gun after asking her if he should. The camp also detailed how the gun went off after the cinematographer reportedly gave him instructions - from pulling back the hammer without cocking the gun to letting go of it.

Alec Baldwin Trying Hard to Avoid Liability, Accountability?

In response to this, Hutchins family attorney sent a statement to CNN, accusing Baldwin of running away from his responsibilities.

"Baldwin's disclosure of personal texts with Matt Hutchins is irrelevant to his demand for arbitration and fails to demonstrate anything other than Hutchins' dignity in his engagement with Baldwin. It is shameful that Baldwin claims Hutchins' actions in filing a wrongful death lawsuit derailed the completion of 'Rust,'" the filing said.

The attorney also firmly stated that the only action that ended the "Rust" production was Baldwin's killing of the cinematographer.

Baldwin's legal filing also included text messages between the actor and Hutchins' husband, Matthew, following the shooting until his ABC interview.

Meanwhile, PEOPLE noted that Baldwin still wanted to push through with the filming after the cinematographer's death as a way to honor her.

As of press time, the Santa Fe Sheriff's Office has not charged anyone yet in the "Rust" shooting incident and Halyna Hutchins' tragic passing.
