Aaron Rodgers and Shailene Woodley were recently photographed hanging out together, but the NFL star is apparently working hard to rekindle their romance.

According to an insider who spoke to OK magazine, he still has a long way to go.

Just last month, the pair called off their year-long engagement and have been spotted numerous times since, including in Los Angeles and at a winery estate in Los Olivos.

They were apparently not trying to disguise the fact that they had been hanging out with each other at the time.

While the "Divergent" actor is still in love with her ex, she is reported to be making it obvious that "it's not a done thing."

They went on to say that she believes the 38-year-old athlete needs a "major attitude adjustment."

"He may come across as cocky and overconfident, and Shailene has made it clear that she will not tolerate that."

The 30-year-old Hollywood star has apparently been spending time with her ex in order for him to "prove to her that he's not a jerk," as everyone claims.

"Aaron is a persuasive person, and he told Shailene he'll change, but he's going to have to make good on his word if he wants to win her back," the insider continued.

Aaron Rodgers and Shailene Woodley called off their engagement after the "Big Little Lies" star reportedly became exhausted by his grueling NFL schedule.

While the 33-year-old star is reported to be supportive of his job, A-Rod is claimed to prioritize football and that they haven't spent any time together.

It was discovered that Shailene feels "neglected" in their relationship and that neither of them is content.

However, now that Aaron is off-season, he has more time to work on mending their friendship.

Fortunately for him, the actress is characterized as "understanding and open," and she hasn't completely abandoned their connection.

Even they, according to the source, aren't sure if they'll get back together since they're not sure if they're meant to be.

"It's up to them to sort it out," said the insider.

Since the breakup, the Green Bay Packers star appears to have had some misgivings, thanking Shailene for her support in an Instagram post a few days later.

"I adore you and am eternally grateful for you."
