Recently Shot Rapper Goonew's Dead Body Propped Up in Club for Memorial: See the Video Here

Goonew, the rapper, was fatally shot and killed two weeks ago. Last night, however, his friends brought his body out to a club.

Friends of the rapper bucked the idea of a traditional funeral. Instead, they opted to bring the body of the performer out to a club and prop him up in a standing position. A rave-like club scene was created with Goonew standing, looking down upon everyone. A video that was posted on Instagram depicts the exact scene. It was as disturbing as it sounds.

Fans of the artist have come out from every bastion of the internet to discry this strange adaptation of a funeral as morally corrupt, disrespectful, and incredibly upsetting. Some called out very plainly, "This Goonew s*** is very disturbing to say the least." Others pointed out, "no way Goonew mama approved that s*** that's so sad & disrespectful."

According to an article on Pitchfork, was shot on Friday night March 18th. After being shot, Goonew was taken to the hospital. He passed away shortly after his arrival. The late 24 year old is survived by his mother. She expressed her deep sadness for the loss of her son. She shared, ""I don't believe this...All he wanted to do is try to get his family out the hood. He had a heart bigger than his body, when they took him, they took me."

We hope that his mother is able to grieve his death properly in a way that she sees fit. Our hearts go out to all of Goonew's family and friends.
