Jesse Williams Forced to Do THIS Despite Being Terrified in His Broadway Debut?

It's nerve-wracking to perform bare-chested on stage for just about anyone. Jesse Williams himself is not an exemption from having that kind of fear.
For his Broadway debut in "Take Me Out," Jesse Williams tells Page Six exclusively that he was "terrified," but then he recognized that this was what he had begged God for.
He said that before he got the opportunity, he wanted to feel scared. He said he wanted something that was terrifying and difficult, but at the same time, something that could him feel alive and uncomfortable. It was an item on his list of things he wanted to do this year.
The actor, 41, announced in May 2021 that he was stepping out from the "Grey's Anatomy" after 12 seasons. It must be noted that this is the show that catapulted him into worldwide fame, and made him a household name.
He's now given the opportunity to be the star in the revival of the 2002 play, as Darren Lemming - a baseball player who found the need to come out as gay.
While those who have watched the play said Williams certainly had nothing to be feared of in the aspect of being nude, the actor cannot help but said he did have a lot of nerves taking on this role. He however, transformed this to his advantage.
Honestly, I just make that excitement. I don't let it settle. I know it's going to be fine. I just have to believe that and lean forward," he says. "Having said that, I'm incredibly humble about the whole thing. I have no business being here. I've never done this before.
"I've never done a three-act play before in my life. I just have respect and gratitude for the opportunity to try something on this level. It's wild to me," he added.
Williams taught high school for six years in the Philadelphia public school system before he became an actor. Stage performance has given him the opportunity to put his teaching skills into practice.
He explained that teaching and doing theater now are actually very similar. People who don't necessarily want to attend the event must be kept engaged and stimulated, he said, just like students who do not want to study.
