As the legal story of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard unfolds, a new name has emerged in the list of names and witnesses that might give this defamation case a very intriguing twist.

The former couple is involved in a legal battle in Virginia after the "Pirates of the Caribbean" actor sued his ex-wife for publishing an op-ed for The Washington Post in 2018, in which she described herself as a domestic abuse survivor.

Beverly Leonard, a retired detective, arrested the "Aquaman" actress in 2009.

According to Meaww, Leonard may be summoned to testify in the case where the two celebrities are accusing each other of violence and abuse.

According to sources, Leonard arrested Heard after she reportedly got into a confrontation with her former lover, Tasya van Ree, at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

During that time, the blonde beauty is said to have grabbed and struck her girlfriend's arm.

According to TMZ, there was "real property damage" at the scene, with van Ree's necklace being shattered during their physical altercation.

They said that "Tasya was highly unhappy with Amber over the alleged attack."

Beverly Leonard's present whereabouts is unclear, although it was reported that in 2016, she defended herself after Tasya van Ree accused her of being "homophobic" and "misogynistic."

TMZ said at the time that Leonard is a "openly lesbian lady" who also donates to a domestic abuse nonprofit.

Amber Heard's ex-lover, a painter and photographer, went out about the event in June 2016, and even issued a statement stating, "In 2009, Amber was wrongly accused of an incident that was misconstrued and over-sensationalized by two persons in a position of power."

"I recall glimpses of sexist attitudes toward us that subsequently looked to be homophobic when they found out we were domestic partners and not just 'friends,'" the creative continued.

She went on to explain that the allegations were then withdrawn and she was freed a few seconds later, before adding that having Heard's integrity called into doubt was "disappointing."

Van Ree stated that they are still friends and that their five years together were "amazing."

She even called the "Pineapple Express" star "bright, honest, and attractive."
