Elon Musk has plans to reverse former President Donald Trump's Twitter ban, and Jimmy Kimmel has a lot to say about it.

The Tesla billionaire Elon Musk recently acquired Twitter: the social media site that has served as the epicenter for a breadth of social and political discourse over the last few years.

In taking over the site, Musk stated that he would dial back a variety of the restrictions that had been previously placed on that.

Along with reversing several of these censorship measures, he is also reversing a major decision made by his predecessor: He is reactivating Donald Trump's Twitter account.

Musk has come out plainly stating that he believes the initial ban on the former President's account was a mistake. Twitter's new interim CEO reasoned:

"It was not correct to ban Donald Trump...I think that was a mistake. It alienated a large part of the country."

Musk also shared that he believed it, "was a morally bad decision to be clear - and foolish in the extreme," to ban Trump in the first place.

Jimmy Kimmel did not pull his punches when dissecting Musk's intents with Twitter. He joked about the billionaire:

"Oh good - we have the part-time DJ who makes flamethrowers and cars that fart in charge of morality now."

Both Kimmel and Twitter users are coming out to express their deep disapproval of this decison.

People are coming out in droves, pointing out to the events of January sixth and the harmful effects that misinformation had on various communities, as reasons to keep Trump off of the site. Many are even moving to an economically based plea, pointing out that there was increase in users on the network after Trump was banned.
