Halle Berry's pregnancy hindered her while filming X-Men: Days of Future Past, but it was an inconvenience the 46-year-old overcame.

"My ever-growing belly was posing a constant challenge," she told Total Film magazine in its Comic-Con special issue. "What I could do was getting more limited, so the role that I play is so different from what it could have been, due to my surprise pregnancy."

Berry's character, Storm, is depicted in a new light in the sequel and the actress said fans will discover new aspects about her character.

"But there's something very revealing and shocking about Storm in this movie that I thought was needed," she said. "There are some things you find out about her that I think give you much more insight into who she is."

Berry also said that the film contains a "pretty big" concept in regards to the threat the film's heroes face. She added, however, that there are tons of X-Men to combat the danger.

"I think it's big because there are so many X-Men in the movie," she said. "There's the young X-Men and there's the X-Men that started it all off. Just so many X-Men."

Wolverine, played by Hugh Jackman, is one of the older X-Men who will appear in the new film. The 44-year-old is getting into perfect shape for his role. He tweeted on July 30 a photo of himself lifting weights and captioned the shot, "If the bar ain't bendin, then you're just pretending #xmen #daysoffuturepast."

The movie's director, Bryan Singer, previously teased fans with several photos from the X-Men set. The latest is a Twitter photo of Mystique, whose blue leg is seen kicking a man in the throat. The strength of her kick is expressed through the man's pained look. Mystique is played by Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence.

Earlier in July, the director also tweeted a photo of several cast members filming at a location he called "the countryside."

Jackman's character and the Beast, played by Nicholas Hoult, are visible in the shot. The two superheroes were also photographed together in another scene revealed in May. Singer uploaded that photo on Twitter with the caption, "Welcome to 1973."

X-Men: Days of Future Past comes to U.S. theaters on May 23, 2014.
