The 1975 have officially announced their fifth studio album and will be releasing a new single from the album today.

The 1975 have been a longstanding pillar of the alternative/indie music realm. Their fourth album Notes on a Conditional Form came out in 2020 and has been keeping their fans rocking out for the past two years. Now, the iconic band has announced their fifth album, and have announced the release of their newest single. (A release which is coming today!)

The upcoming album is titled Being Funny in a Foreign Language. The entirety will be released on October 14th, but a single from the album is being released today at 6PM BST on BBC Radio 1. This single is titled "Part of the Band," and if the rest of the album is anything like this song, fans are in luck.

"Part of the Band" has been teased on Twitter with various fragments of information coming to light. The most specific recently, of course, has been the announcement that the song would premiere tonight at 6PM BST. This means the song will premiere at midnight in EST. (So, we suppose for us here in the states, this song is ACTUALLY coming out tomorrow, but, as per the announcements, the single definitely has very July 7th energy. And we just want to be "Part of the Band", you know?)

We cannot wait to listen to this song on repeat when it is released. BRB. Counting down the hours now.
