Sylvester Stallone Shocked With 'Sudden' Divorce Filing by Jennifer Flavin: 'They Were Happy'
Sylvester Stallone remains in deep shock after his wife, Jennifer Flavin, suddenly filed for a divorce.
Flavin surprised everyone - especially Stallone - when she filed a petition to divorce him through a court in Palm Beach County, Florida, after 25 years of marriage.
Following the development, a friend of the couple revealed that the actor was "blindsided" by it.
The source told Page Six that they had no idea what happened to them since the now-estranged couple still looked happy weeks ago.
"You couldn't think of a nicer couple ... she's been visiting him in Oklahoma City, where he's filming. It sounded like everything was great," the source said.
While they are trying to fix things between them, there are rumors that the divorce started from an argument over his dog.
A news outlet said that Flavin decided to split after fighting over whether or not her husband could have a new dog. But the actor himself debunked the rumor and said that they did not end their relationship due to a "trivial argument."
Despite the divorce, he expressed how much he will always love his wife and have the highest respect for her.
Why Did Jennifer Flavin File For Divorce
In her petition, the model said that Stallone "has engaged in the intentional dissipation, depletion and/or waste of marital assets."
The model began seeking exclusive use of their Florida home and asked to revert her name to Jennifer Flavin. On top of these, she wants to have a greater share of their assets, accusing the actor of squandering money that should be for her.
Stallone and Flavin got married in 1997, years after their first meeting in 1988. The estranged couple shares three daughters together.
Three months before the filing, they still posted heartfelt messages to mark their 25th wedding anniversary.

But before filing for divorce, Page Six noted that she was spotted without her wedding ring already. A source also told Fox News that they had had issues in the past years, and Flavin hit the last straw recently.
It did not disclose the exact issue, but it was said that the 54-year-old model "got sick of spinning in a circle" due to the problems they had which she felt would never be resolved.
In addition, both Flavin and Stallone were said to be unhappy for quite some time already. However, they decided not to divorce until their children were all grown-ups already.
