Jason Momoa cut his signature long locks to support a good cause.

Momoa just got rid of his signature long hair to highlight the issue of plastic pollution and urge people to use recyclable cans for water instead. The 43-year-old "Aquaman" star started the buzz through a video of his makeover on Instagram.

He began his statement by greeting his fans with "Aloha everyone" before asking someone to give him his braids. The actor then said he did it to prevent the increased production and usage of single-use plastics.

"All that sh*t, it just goes into our land. It goes into our ocean. I'm here in Hawaii right now and just seeing things in our ocean, it's just so sad. So please, anything you can do to eliminate single-use plastic in your life, help me. Plastic bottles are ridiculous," he said.

Momoa then told his followers to help him in the cause as plastic bottles "are ridiculous." He also asked them to be better at protecting the Earth and starting it by cutting off single-use plastics.

He famously founded Mananalu Water, that commits to producing resealable and recyclable aluminum bottles. With every purchase of its products, Mananalu Water pledges to remove the equivalent of one plastic bottle from the ocean.

Jason Momoa's Hair Created Buzzes

Although Momoa cut his hair only to promote a cause, he sparked buzzes as he once told Australia's Daily Telegraph that he would not cut his hair since his then-wife Lisa Bonet, would leave him if he did so.

Unfortunately, they filed for divorce this year due to the reported issue between them. A source revealed to PEOPLE that the former pair grew apart due to their different focuses.

Aside from his head, he also sparked the same talks when he shaved his beard to encourage people to use recyclable aluminum instead.

However, he sustained criticisms as the move reportedly outshined Mueller Report. Fans also expressed their heartbreak as it was a sign that he left his "Game of Thrones" character, Khal Drogo, for good.

As of press time, Momoa is seemingly focused on his new relationship with Eiza Gonzalez after initially splitting earlier this year. The reconciliation rumors emerged after he got involved in a car accident in Calabasas.
