The crossover fans would die to see: "Harry Potter" star Daniel Radcliffe reveals this "Lord of the Rings" star would be his first choice to play him in a parody biopic, or perhaps even vice versa.

In 2001, two actors debuted separate fantasy films that would lead to one of the biggest film franchises ever. Daniel Radcliffe played Harry Potter in the theatrical debut of the self-titled franchise, "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone". Meanwhile, Elijah Wood portrayed Frodo Baggins in the first "The Lord of the Rings" film during the same year.

In a recent interview with Variety, the "Harry Potter" star revealed that if there arose an opportunity to have his parody biopic, his first choice to portray himself would be the "The Lord of the Rings" actor, or possibly even play as Wood in their biopic.

"I would say, if somebody was going to do a parody of my life, obviously [it has to be] Elijah Wood. We would trade off." Radcliffe stated.

Repeatedly Mistaken by Fans?

While the two actors have created names for themselves from their separate fantasy roles, Radcliffe revealed that they have been linked together on many occasions due to their physical similarities, as both actors share striking blue eyes.

When Radcliffe appeared on "The Graham Norton show" in 2012, he was reminded of his resemblance to Wood when the latter's photo appeared on the segment, "Harry Potter Look-A-Likes".

To fans' delight, Radcliffe and Wood finally reunited in an Empire Magazine issue in 2021 for the 20th year celebration of "Harry Potter" and "The Lord of the Rings", where they talked about their fantasy roles. Additionally, Radcliffe recalls a moment when a fan in Japan had mistaken him for the 41-year-old actor.

"I was on a red carpet in Japan, and a photo of you was thrust at me," Radcliffe recalled during his joint interview with Wood. "My first instinct was to say, 'Oh, I'm not... So I can't...' but I thought the language barrier would be too much. So the quickest way to deal with it was just to write, 'I am not Elijah Wood, [signed] Daniel Radcliffe,' and then hope somebody translated that for him later."

On the subject of biopics, Radcliffe is set to star in the satirical biographical parody film, "Weird: The Al Yankovic Story" as the films subject, "Weird Al" Yankovic. The biopic first premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 8, 2022, and will be available to stream on "The Roku Channel" on November 4, 2022.
