Katy Perry may be busy with her career as a world-renowned pop star and permanent judge of "American Idol," but she will always put her family as her number one priority as revealed in a recent interview.

Speaking in an episode of the "SmartLess" podcast, the mom of one said she works a lot and gets help from a nanny to cater her baby's needs. However, she clarified that the employee she hired isn't full-time.

The reason why she won't hire a nanny that would stay for a long time is because she "would never be able to know how to care for my daughter like I'm meant to." (via E! Online)

The "Hummingbird Heartbeat" songstress is currently busy playing a line of scheduled shows in her Las Vegas residency called "Play," meaning she doesn't have much time to rest, but the pop star clarified that she would stay awake just to bond with her daughter no matter how tired she is.

"I'm just in mom mode. It doesn't matter if I've had a show that goes to 11 p.m. the night before, I'm waking up at 6 o'clock and we're gonna go and do breakfast," she explained.

Perry added she has the "no-sleep shakes" but she loves being in "mom mode."

Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom's Daughter Growing Up Fast

Many fans rejoiced when Katy Perry announced her pregnancy with her first child with Orlando Bloom two years ago. Today, Daisy Dove Bloom is growing up fast and the "Thinking of You" hitmaker wanted to make every moment count.

Earlier this year, Perry spoke to Chelsea Handler's "Life Will Be the Death of Me" podcast to discuss her life living with her family outside Los Angeles.

She told the host that spending time in Kentucky reminded them that Hollywood is not America.

Elsewhere in the conversation, Perry also revealed she didn't want to be a mother at first, but she later realized that being a parent was "the best decision" she ever made in her life. (via Hello! Magazine)
