Internationally-acclaimed author Nicholas Sparks expressed his vision for his latest novel and wants Harry Styles to star in a future movie adaptation.

New York Times bestseller Nicholas Sparks is a novelist who has published twenty-two novels and two non-fiction books, selling over 115 million copies sold worldwide. Among his famous works that he, later on, produced into a film include classics "A Walk to Remember", "Nights in Rodanthe", "Dear John", "The Last Song", and "The Notebook".

In a recent guest appearance on "Good Morning America", Sparks promotes his latest and 23rd novel, titled "Dreamland". The novel is centered on Colby Mills who longs to pursue his dream of a musical career. When asked about his vision for a future film adaptation, the 56 year old author responded with "Don't Worry Darling" star Harry Styles.

In a separate guesting on SiriusXM, the "The Longest Ride" author elaborates on his past statement in casting the "One Direction" alum, clarifying that while there were no definite plans yet, he was gunning for Styles to portray Colby Mills in a possible movie adaptation.

"My daughters hit the floor when they were watching the interview on television, like, 'Oh my gosh, really? It's gonna be Harry Styles,'" Sparks expressed on SiriusXM. "I'm like, 'I didn't say that. What, what I said was, well, wouldn't it be great if he was in there?'"

According to Sparks, his daughters were big fans of the "Watermelon sugar" singer, and acknowledged his acting performances in "Don't Worry Darling".

"He's coming out in a big movie. It's obvious the young man can act, and you always want a good actor." Sparks stated.

However, despite his statements on possible casting choices for "Dreamland", Sparks expressed that Harry Styles' agents have not reached out to him yet.

Harry Styles Acting Break?

Despite having Harry Styles as a possible option to star in a "Dreamland" movie adaptation, the chances of the pop star filming another movie may prove unlikely, as he recently expressed taking a break from acting.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, the 28-year-old singer expressed that initially, acting was not a part of his career plans, and will stay out of the big screen for a while to focus on his music. With his "Love on Tour" coming up this year, Styles won't be around that much or have enough time to shoot for films.

Styles made his major motion picture debut in 2017 on "Dunkirk", followed by a cameo appearance in the post-credits scene of Marvel's "Eternals" as Starfox. This year, the pop star has also wrapped up production in lead roles "Don't Worry Darling" and "My Policeman".
