Prince Harry Once Wished He Wasn't Born a Prince: 'Tired of Being a Spare'

Prince Harry's upcoming memoir will reportedly reveal how he once wished he had never been born a royal.

The infamous Megxit marked the end of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's journey as senior members of the royal family. The story would reportedly be included in his upcoming memoir, which he is currently editing after putting it on hold following Queen Elizabeth II's death.

Now, royal expert Katie Nicholl shared the other things that could possibly be included in the book, including Prince Harry's unexpected wish.

Nicholl appeared in the recent episode of Palace Confidential and talked about Prince Harry's wish he was never born a royal.

"When you're having that sort of an advance, that's not going to be for Harry talking about his philanthropic work. That's going to be the inside story of being born the spare, and what it entails. I sat down with Harry before and he said to me, 'there are many times I wish I wasn't born a prince,'" she said.

The royal expert revealed that Prince Harry's vision was different from what the Palace envisioned for him, as the royal family wanted to be Prince William's wingman.

Prince Harry Tired of Being Prince William's Shadow

Nicholl's story about Prince Harry's heartbreaking fate as Prince William's brother was also addressed by several reporters and experts in the past.

Sky News reporter Andrew Bolt once said that the Duke of Sussex does not like being the second son. Due to this, he became a spare to the heir but never got the same amount of attention as his brother.

"They might be family, but there's a lot of jealousy there," another source told New Idea. "Harry might claim he hates the press, but he has to admit he enjoyed lording it over William, given he's grown up being the spare to the heir."

Since Prince William is nearer to the throne in the British line of succession, Prince Harry felt disregarded as he reportedly put aside more. In addition, he reportedly felt jealous because of Prince William's popularity.

This led him to compare himself to a shadow.

The royal brothers still have the royal feud after it started years ago. Unfortunately, royal experts believed that the release of the memoir could make the brothers' relationship more complicated.
