Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have sparked engagement rumors, and netizens have mixed opinions about the issue.

Swift and Kelce's relationship has continued to heat up. After welcoming 2024 with a sweet kiss, an unnamed source told Page Six that the celebrity couple plans to take their relationship to the next level this summer.

"Taylor and Travis discussed it, and there is a plan," the tipster claimed. "They will get engaged on their one-year anniversary in July."

There are also rumors that the American footballer had already proposed over the winter holidays. However, they allegedly didn't want to announce it yet since "they don't want it to seem like it's rushed insanity."

Another unnamed insider claimed Kelce won't propose on Valentine's Day for the same reason.

The report about the alleged summer engagement plans received mixed reactions from netizens, with some questioning it and others congratulating the couple.

"They PLAN to get engaged? That basically them saying that they are planning to plan to get married. I can't with this woman. She's so overrated...," one commented.

"That's not how that works," another added.

"If you both plan it. You are already engaged," a third person wrote.

"Congratulations. Great for both of them," a different user said.

"And wed in the Autumn and then divorced by Christmas!" a fifth user opined.

Several netizens were sure that the alleged engagement won't happen.

"'Plan to' means it's never gonna happen," one wrote.

"Anyone want[s] to bet this doesn't happen?" another commented.

Others shared their prediction about when Swift and Kelce would split.

"I'll say now. It won't last a year," a netizen claimed. Another added, "Lol...if they actually make it to the altar, it won't last more than 2 years."

Meanwhile, one said it was too soon for them to get engaged. Several also predicted Swift and Kelce's relationship wouldn't last, and they wouldn't get married.

"Too soon. They haven't been dating long enough for that. It's only been a couple of months that the mainstream media has been forcing this relationship down our throats," one user opined.

Someone else claimed that the engagement won't happen because "she's a lesbian."

Swift's sexuality had been the subject of Anna Marks' op-ed for The New York Times. The editor claimed that the "Cruel Summer" singer was queer.

However, a person close to the situation claimed Swift was unfairly targeted and alleged that the piece wouldn't be allowed if it talked about Shawn Mendes or other male artists whose sexuality had been questioned by fans.

"There seems to be no boundary some journalists won't cross when writing about Taylor, regardless of how invasive, untrue, and inappropriate it is -- all under the protective veil of an 'opinion piece,'" the source said.
